Jean-Georges Vongerichten's restaurant, located in a restored 19th-century residence (and later inn), offers local ingredients and dishes prepared by Vongerichten's veterinarians, Blake and Melody Farrar. The 250-seat restaurant includes two dining areas, plus a chef's table in the kitchen and a wine cellar for private dining. Look for dishes like the signature tuna tartare and sautéed scallops; and prosciutto-wrapped Berkshire pork chop with mushrooms, sage and white wine sauce. Open Tuesday to Saturday for dinner only. Cozy upstate New York restaurant on a quiet street. The portions are very well served, most dishes can be divided. The rack of lamb was delicious, as was the salmon. The steak and fries was a simpler dish. The wine specials were reasonable.
