2. The Duce
1920s Italian-inspired decor and patio seating

Upon arriving in Phoenix, we discovered a unique bar and eatery. It was a quiet Saturday afternoon and not crowded, allowing us to find a spot at one of the many bars. The cocktail list, featuring unique and old-time drinks, was written on a large chalkboard. I ordered a Brandy Alexander, which was fantastic. All food and drink orders were served in mason jars, including their specialties of mac n cheese and chicken pot pie.
During our visit, we found entertainment options like bean bag toss, foosball, and a full-size boxing ring. We also discovered they were preparing for a wedding in another room. We shared a delicious veggie and gooey cheese dip before leaving. There were a few downsides to our experience - our meals were served 20 minutes before our son's family's orders, and parking was challenging. We used valet parking to avoid a long walk in the area. Overall, we hope to return and spend more time there.
When we brought our visiting family with children to this place, they found various fun activities to keep them entertained while waiting for their meal. The ordering process involved placing orders at a counter, which were then delivered to our table. The food and drinks were presented in mason jars, and the atmosphere featured loud, eclectic music. Though we were informed that a DJ would start at 8 pm, they only began performing at 9 pm, by which time we were preparing to leave.
The clientele was mostly younger, and there were some minor issues with the service. For example, our meals were served much earlier than our son's family's orders, despite both orders being placed simultaneously. Parking was also challenging, so we opted for valet parking to avoid a long walk in the area. In summary, while there were some minor issues, our overall experience was positive and we would consider returning in the future.

3. The Vig
Housed in a historic brick building with a lively atmosphere

Step into a cool, historical, and relaxed ambiance for a late lunch or dinner at an unnamed eatery in the area. The outdoor dining and seating area boasts a pleasant atmosphere when the sun is shining, and the staff is generally attentive and friendly. For food, the steak salad received positive reviews, and the turkey pastrami was a satisfying choice. However, the limited menu and slow service may leave something to be desired. While the margaritas were enjoyable, the overall experience doesn't warrant making a special trip or recommending it to others. Seek out better options in the neighborhood.
