Upper East Side | $$ The epitome of a cozy and romantic Italian restaurant: Uva is the Upper East Side's best pasta destination. The atmosphere is perfect, the service is exceptional and the pasta is to die for. Ricotta gnocchi tops the list for me. I don't think I've ever eaten more stuffed gnocchi in my life. I'm in heaven just thinking about how soft and creamy the gnocchi were. And the baked eggplant appetizer in pink sauce is also incredible!

We were visiting New York and our friends who live there chose Café d'Alsace.They are foodies and know the owners who have several French and Italian restaurants in Manhattan.We were told this was old Elaine's place.
A neighborhood staple and the new location hasn't changed the classic menu.We enjoyed the restaurant's weekly menu for dinner, the salmon tartare was good, the chicken and lavender flan were excellent.The service was attentive.

Head chef Joseph Capozzi calls it "elegant home cooking" and well, that's enough for me. I don't always need my brunch to be a fancy meal to celebrate a special occasion, sometimes I just want a delicious, simple meal.

Dana Hall I visited this place recently with my partner and had high expectations, which were easily met. The atmosphere was calm and created the perfect atmosphere for a nice date night. Unlike my previous dining experiences in New York, the service here was exceptional. We were seated and our waiter was attentive throughout the meal. The waiters did a great job with the refills, which is not always the case. I tried the midnight road trip cocktail, a unique take on an espresso martini, and it was delicious. The chicken parm XL and gnocchi were fantastic. I hope to return or try the other restaurants next door.

My company and I visited here with high expectations because we had seen good reviews and quite a few people when we passed by.In reality, the restaurant far exceeded our expectations in every way I can think of.
The food and service were great.Both the waiters and the owner were warm, pleasant and attentive.We brought our young kids and then realized it's not really that kind of place, but they were very friendly anyway.
