Hubby and I enjoyed a rock climbing date at Hangar 18 Long Beach, a fun and exciting destination for this activity. We took advantage of a Groupon deal that offered two introductory lessons for $33, which included an hour of learning and came with climbing shoes.

A unique blend of a wild west theme with modern entertainment and education

El Dorado Frontier is a small theme park located in Long Beach’s El Dorado Park that is open only on weekends. The park features a railroad, carousel, buggy ride, and gold panning. The train ride, which lasts nearly 15 minutes, takes visitors on a loop around a leafy corner of the park and through a strobing mine shaft. This theme park is suitable for toddlers through elementary school-aged children, with enough attractions to keep them entertained.
Visitors can bring their own food and have a picnic at the several picnic tables located outside the park. Parents will be happy to know that even infants as young as 9 months have enjoyed the buggy rides, while older children up to 8 years old have fun exploring all the activities the park has to offer. Overall, El Dorado Frontier is a great option for families with young children looking for a fun and affordable day out.
