1. Stumptown Coffee Roasters
Dedication to sustainability and ethical sourcing; Collaboration with local roasters; Unique, carefully crafted drinks

While Stumptown Coffee Roasters excels in delivering exceptional coffee, a few aspects may leave some patrons less enthralled. The almond milk used can be a bit too sweet for those with a more delicate palate. Additionally, the prompt application of lids to the glasses hinders the enjoyment of the beautifully crafted foam. The baristas, although efficient, may not provide the warmest of welcomes. Kudos to Stumptown Coffee Roasters for not charging extra for non-dairy milk – a small gesture that is sure to be appreciated.

2. Culture Espresso
Independent coffee shop with a focus on sustainability and local ingredients

As we continued our journey through the bustling streets of New York, our attention was caught by a sign proudly proclaiming Cultures as the purveyor of the best cookie in town. Intrigued, we couldn't resist the temptation and decided to put their claim to the test. We opted for the beloved chocolate chip cookie, a true crowd favorite, and for an unconventional twist, the cornbread sugar cookie. The flavors were impeccable, with each bite offering a burst of deliciousness that kept us craving for more. Cultures truly knows how to elevate the humble cookie into an art form, leaving us with a newfound appreciation for this delightful treat.

4. Gregorys Coffee
Sustainable and fair trade coffee sourcing

When it comes to food, service, and atmosphere, Gregorys Coffee is unmatched. I had the pleasure of trying their vegan scrambled egg sandwich and it was absolutely delicious. The green smoothie was also a standout choice, offering a refreshing and healthy option. It's worth mentioning that due to the New Year's season, the bathroom line can be quite long in this neighborhood. However, this is to be expected given the popularity of Gregorys Coffee during this time. Don't let that deter you though - the overall experience is definitely worth it!

7. Bluestone Lane Bryant Park Coffee Shop
Collaborative space with free Wi-Fi and power outlets

This amazing Australian-inspired café is a hidden gem in the bustling metropolis of New York City. With a unique blend of coffee that sets it apart from other establishments, their brew is incredibly smooth and satisfying. The service is lightning-fast and the staff is warm and attentive, ensuring that your caffeine fix is delivered with a smile. The food, although delicious, might leave some wanting for more as the portions are on the smaller side for the price. However, the only downside to this otherwise exceptional spot is the street it's located on - sadly, it is one of the dirtiest and smelliest in the entire city.

8. Felix Roasting Co.
Sustainable and ethically sourced coffee beans

Felix Roasting Co. opened its doors in September 2018 and quickly rose to the top of the list of most Instagrammable cafes in New York. An incredibly glamorous cafe to escape the hustle and bustle of the streets of New York even if just for a moment! This might be the cutest cafe in New York right now!

9. Black Fox Coffee
Independent coffee shop with a neighborhood feel

Instagram Black Fox Coffee, which opened its first store in Manhattan in 2016, is dedicated to giving New Yorkers the European coffee experience, which is all about coffee breaks and conversation. And a coffee break is exactly what we need in New York, especially in Manhattan's financial district and in Midtown, which is where all three of Black Fox's outposts are located. Black Fox sources its beans from farms and roasters in all over the world, and these delicious cups are served in elegant European-style establishments with wooden espresso bars and elegant lamps. If you like what you try in coffee, you can join the Black Fox coffee club, where each month you receive a different bag of coffee delivered to your home from some of the best roasters in the world. Looking for some food while you drink your latte? Try the ham and cheese croissant or the yogurt parfait.

10. East One Coffee Roasters

View this post on Instagram A post shared by East One Coffee Roasters (@eastonecoffee) Address: 384 Court Street East One Coffee Roasters is not only one of my favorite coffee shops in Carroll Gardens, but it also has some of the best brunches in Carroll Gardens . . The space is large with indoor and outdoor dining and they even offer alcohol in addition to their delicious coffee selection. They serve breakfast all day and even have options for kids, which makes sense since it's in Carroll Gardens. As for the food, it's all delicious, but my favorites are the berries on toast, malted pancakes, and Danish breakfast. They also have amazing sandwiches and bowls if you're in the mood for lunch. All of the coffee is amazing, but be sure to try their honey latte, made with local raw honey from the Catskills. The coffee is roasted in-house so it is always fresh and delicious. They also have cocktails, as I mentioned above, tea, fresh juice, and kombucha.

11. Joe Coffee Company

Joe Coffee Company started as a simple coffee shop in the West Village and now has locations all over the city. Most of their cafes are small and it can be difficult to get a table. So maybe save this for an immediate situation. They make great iced lattes and some locations offer espresso workshops and Latte Art classes. Location: There are tons of locations around Manhattan, but I especially love the outpost in Bryant Park. Ideal for: having a coffee on a walk through the city.
