8. Pacific Shores Cocktail Lounge
Elegant hotel bar with a relaxed atmosphere and ocean views

Upon returning to San Diego from San Francisco, one of the first places I visit is a bar where a Bombay Sapphire and tonic now costs $3.00. While this may seem pricey, it is still more affordable than the cheaper bars in SF, where the same round would cost at least $20. The booths in this bar are plush, and the black lights intensify the atmosphere, making everything, including the cheap gin and tonics and the lint on my black shirt, visible.
This establishment is unique and worth checking out, especially if you are visiting from out of town. However, one downside is that they do not have a cabaret license, so dancing is not permitted. Despite this, the bar's strange and dark ambiance is something to experience.

13. Lucy's Tavern
Offers daily drink specials and a comfortable, unpretentious atmosphere.

Lucy's is a popular local watering hole, known for its good vibes, strong drinks, and friendly staff. However, during my visit on a Tuesday, I encountered an issue with the pool tables. It seemed that each table had a designated winner that players had to compete against, which made it difficult for me to play a casual game with my friend.
Despite this slight hiccup, I genuinely enjoy spending time at Lucy's. The establishment offers a happy hour Monday through Friday from noon to 6 pm, where customers can enjoy $5 Espolon cocktails. Additionally, Lucy's allows patrons to bring in outside food, making it an excellent spot for social gatherings.
