2. Ramen Wasabi
Handmade noodles, rich and flavorful broth, popular late-night spot

If you're looking for a great ramen place in Chicago, this restaurant is a must-try! It's recommended to arrive early for dinner, as it can get quite busy. We arrived around 20-30 minutes past 5pm and still had to wait, but there is a cute bookstore or thrift store across the street to pass the time.
The ramen here is truly outstanding. The broth is packed with flavor, and the meat is so tender that it melts in your mouth. The ajitama is also cooked to perfection, with a soft texture that complements the rest of the dish. This is definitely some of the best ramen I've had in Chicago.

3. High Five Ramen
Handmade noodles, Locally sourced ingredients, Sustainable practices

The BBQ is situated inside a restaurant, with the ramen dining area located down a few stairs in a dimly lit corner. Despite the slightly hidden and dark location, the delicious ramen served more than makes up for it. The menu is straightforward and simple, but don't let that fool you - the flavors pack a punch. The aroma of the BBQ dishes from upstairs further adds to the dining experience.
One dish that stands out is the High Five Signature Bowl, a favorite among customers. This ramen dish features a hearty pork and miso broth, perfect for warming up on a cold day. Topped with slices of savory pork belly, ramen noodles, a seasoned egg, black garlic oil, bean sprouts, and fresh scallions, every slurp is packed with flavor. Diners rave about the rich and delicious taste, claiming it's the best ramen they've ever had.

4. DaiFuku Ramen
Handmade noodles, Rich broth, Cozy atmosphere

The author and their brother tried different types of ramen at a restaurant, with the author ordering the Hakodate Shio and the brother getting the Sapporo Miso. Both dishes were well-seasoned, with tender pork and chicken in the miso soup. The broth was rich and there was a generous serving of noodles in both bowls. The author was interested in trying the spicy garlic ramen but decided to hold off due to concerns about garlic breath and stomach issues during an upcoming event.
At the same restaurant, the author and their companion also ordered a Tokyo Shoyu and Sapporo Miso ramen with pork chashu substituted for chicken. The broth was delicious and rich, and the use of a wooden spoon added to the authentic ramen experience. The staff were helpful and accommodating. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere, but because of its small size and limited seating, it can get crowded during peak hours and there might be a long wait.

I tried a bowl of ramen at a new place in Bridgeport, Chicago, and found it to be quite good. Although it didn't quite reach the same level as the best ramen in NYC or Boston, it was still a satisfying meal, especially when compared to other food we had in the city. The appetizers, which included baby octopus and takoyaki, were even more impressive than the ramen.

Monster Ramen, located in Logan Square, has received much buzz and I was eager to check it out. To my surprise, the wait time on a Friday was shorter than I expected. The restaurant was bustling, but not overwhelmingly loud. The seating was comfortable, providing a pleasant dining experience.
The exterior of Monster Ramen is unassuming, featuring a simple white neon sign against a matte black background. Inside, the bright and narrow space is equipped with a few tables, but the best seats are at the kitchen counter. Watching the action unfold through glass separators is like watching a live broadcast of the "Monster Ramen Channel," making the dining experience even more enjoyable.
However, the fried gyoza didn't meet my expectations as they were a bit limp.
