5. Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.
Forrest Gump themed restaurant with outdoor seating and great views
The food served at the restaurant was reasonably tasty, but the high cost and lack of personal attention made for an underwhelming experience. My husband's dish, "Mama blues southern charmed fried shrimp with hot and crispy fries," offered a large portion size, but failed to deliver on flavor. The shrimp itself was disappointingly bland, with only the coating providing any taste.
The dish's title suggested a generous portion, which was delivered, but the shrimp's lack of flavor was a letdown. Given the dish's high price and the embarrassing service, one would expect a more impressive meal. It's unfortunate that the food did not meet the expectations set by its descriptive title and the restaurant's reputation.

For lunch, the individual and their wife stopped by a seafood restaurant. The individual's meal, the Crab & Shrimp in a Sourdough bread bowl, was a satisfying and delicious choice. The wife enjoyed her clam chowder. The Crab Poppers also proved to be a hit. The staff at the restaurant were friendly, and they offered helpful samples of different items on the menu.
However, the Deep Fried Seafood plate did not meet expectations. The plate had an overabundance of batter, with not enough seafood to balance it out. The only redeeming quality of the dish was the fries that accompanied it.

15. Supreme Crab Seafood Buffet
Spacious dining area, extensive seafood selection, attentive service
I recently visited a seafood buffet that offered an all-you-can-eat deal for $29.99. The options included Cajun spiced Crawfish, Cajun spiced Crab Legs, Snow Crab Legs, Shrimp, Cajun Shrimp, Corn Cobs, Potatoes, and a dessert of Strawberry Jello and Fruit. I left feeling stuffed.
However, there were limitations to the food selection, as it mainly consisted of a few well-seasoned seafood options and some fast-food like selections, such as pizza and nuggets. The cleanliness of the establishment was also less than desirable, with stained walls and a constant need for table maintenance. To add to the inconvenience, parking was not free and was located at the wharf.

19. Lou's Fish Shack in Fisherman's Wharf
Fresh seafood, cozy atmosphere, located in the heart of San Francisco
The food served at the restaurant was enjoyable, although not particularly exceptional. It was delivered to our table in a timely manner. My husband ordered a Cobb salad, which he found satisfactory. On the other hand, I chose the mahi mahi tacos and requested that the flour tortillas be replaced with corn tortillas, to accommodate my gluten-free diet. Unfortunately, the staff did not fulfill this request, which I only discovered when our orders arrived. I decided to eat the filling as a salad instead of a taco. Reflecting on the experience, I wish we had explored more options available in the area.
Despite the earlier mishap, the food was undeniably delicious. Some of the finest fish and chips I have tasted in recent memory were served here, and the fried shrimp were equally delightful. As is customary in San Francisco's Wharf district, the prices were on the higher side.
