The restaurant also offers a unique selection of craft local beer and wine. During a recent visit, I was greeted by a warm and welcoming staff in an informal yet comfortable atmosphere.

2. Hash House A Go Go
Home of twisted farm food and famous for its unique presentation

I recently visited the Hillcrest San Diego location of Hash House A Go Go at the request of my stepfather for Father's Day breakfast. A friend who lives in Vegas had recommended the place to me, but buffets usually win out. From the service to the table napkins, everything about the restaurant was impeccable and above par. The polenta was delicious, and I shared the fried chicken, waffles with bacon embedded inside, and eggs with someone in my party. The scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection, not dry, and went well with the side order of fruit that accompanied our pancakes.
Hash House A Go Go is known for its big caloric portions and long lines, but hungry regulars from near and far are willing to wait for an indulgent meal in the crowded and sometimes noisy dining room. The Southern-accented comfort food destination is a popular choice for those looking for a satisfying and indulgent meal.

3. Trust
Family-owned with local ingredients and homemade sauces.

The atmosphere and service at Trust are superior, but the food was just average. The chicken was mostly breading with only a small amount of meat, and it seemed like they were trying to stretch their supplies. My wife's food came out burnt, but they were willing to remake it. On the other hand, the pancakes were enjoyable. It's worth noting that they do not offer a military discount.
My friends highly recommended Trust, and for good reason. The food is excellent. I made a reservation for brunch on a Saturday for two, but then my boyfriend discovered that his mother would be in San Diego during the same weekend. I increased the reservation to four, and when we arrived at the restaurant from our separate hotels, we were promptly seated on the dog-friendly patio. We were so engrossed in conversation that our server had to interrupt us to take our drink orders. I ordered the Raspberry thyme mimosa, while his mother got the Aperol Spritz, and the guys both ordered orange juice. We then browsed the menus while continuing our conversation. We ordered the Fried Rice, Smoked salmon toast, Simple breakfast, and Braised bacon grilled cheese. His stepfather requested that they substitute the eggs with bacon since he can't have eggs, and they were happy to accommodate his request.

17. Au Revoir French Bistro
Authentic bistro with a passionate French chef

Our favorite neighborhood restaurant offers excellent food and service in a casual and quiet atmosphere. The salmon and scallop dish has always been a favorite, but recently, the Filet Medallions & Scallops have also become a top choice. On Sunday, we had an exceptional brunch experience. Our server was friendly and engaged in pleasant conversation, making our visit even more enjoyable.
We started with a glass of wine from their good selection and indulged in a generous portion of French Onion Soup, which was fabulous. Following that, we shared the Steak Frites, which was more than enough for both of us after the soup. The fries were excellent, and the Bernaise sauce was stellar. While the steak portion was not large, it was sufficient for us. To finish off our meal, I treated myself to a Creme Brule, which was the best I've had in a long time.
