The act of devotion and community unites members in a bond that transcends time and circumstance.
At the West Side Mother Marianne Soup Kitchen, the spirit of compassion is alive and well, evident in the daily service to between 100 and 250 individuals in need. This remarkable initiative not only provides nourishment to the hungry but also fosters a sense of belonging and dignity. With hot meals from local restaurants on weekdays and bagged lunches on weekends, the kitchen embodies a true spirit of generosity and kindness that emanates from every volunteer and staff member.

2. Grace Church

Immerse yourself in the enchanting ambiance of Grace Church, located a mere 140 meters from Utica in Oneida County. Step inside this architectural marvel dating back to yesteryears, where Easter services resound with a delightful symphony of music. Picture the talented organist also serving as the choir director, accompanied by a brass section that includes the melodic strains of a trumpet, sliding trombone, and French horn. As you bask in the grandeur of the historic building, your heart will be touched by the warmth of a diverse congregation whose collective spirit radiates with boundless generosity. Led by the maestro Bruce Smith, the ethereal harmonies of the choir create a truly celestial experience within the hallowed walls of this extraordinary sanctuary. 6. Redeemer Church International Campus

7. Hope Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church

Established over a century and a half ago, Hope Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church stands as a historic cornerstone within the Utica community. As one of the oldest Black Churches in New York, its vibrant religious service commences at 11, welcoming all to experience its rich heritage firsthand. With a prideful association dating back to childhood, I, Minnie L. Warmack Johnson, am honored to be a longstanding member of this welcoming and close-knit congregation.
8. Tabernacle Baptist Church

Tabernacle Baptist Church's cold response to a man seeking prayers for the homeless is baffling. Instead of extending a warm Christian welcome and gratitude, they chose to react with hostility. Such behavior is disgraceful and contradicts the values of compassion and kindness that churches should embody.
9. Believers Miracle Deliverance Ministries

During my visit to Believers Miracle Deliverance Ministries, I was mistaken for a homeless individual and denied an audience with the pastor. Despite my eagerness to find a spiritual community, I found their actions lacking in the compassion and love that should define a place of worship. My testimony stands as a witness to the disappointing encounter.
