3. The Bayhouse of Breezy Point in Breezy Point
Floor-to-ceiling windows with stunning views of the bay

The Bayhouse is a popular spot for drinks and casual dining with a beautiful view. During a recent visit, I sat out on the deck and enjoyed bottled beer, muscles, and a burger. The beer was cold, but the muscles were only slightly seasoned and not as fresh as I prefer. The burger was adequate.
I have been a neighborhood resident around the Bayhouse for a long time and visit every year with high expectations, hoping that a place with such potential will have good food. During a recent family visit, three of us ordered the sea bass special, but it was apparent that it was not sea bass. The tilapia, which was priced as sea bass, was overcooked and inedible for all of us.

4. Kennedy's
Extensive beer selection, large TVs for sports viewing

Family-owned and operated for over 30 years, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner
Kennedy's, a well-known establishment, scores high on many aspects such as its bar scene, food, and service. However, the stunning views of Jamaica Bay and South Brooklyn, as well as the nautical-inspired decor, are slightly marred by the presence of a noise phobia. The bar scene is particularly noteworthy, thanks to its themed nights that are popular among both locals and tourists.
The professionalism of the staff and the quality of the food further contribute to Kennedy's reputation as a top-notch destination. The bar's nautical decor is especially lovely, offering a fitting backdrop to the stunning views of Jamaica Bay. While the venue is generally a hit, it's essential to note the impact of the noise phobia, which is the only drawback in an otherwise excellent experience.

5. Silver Gull Beach Club
Scenic ocean views, fresh seafood options

The bar at this location is extremely expensive, with prices comparable to those in New York. This is unfair and disappointing. Instead, I prefer to bring my own food and drink, even if it is inconvenient. On the positive side, the location offers access to a pool and a quieter area of the beach, perfect for building sandcastles and relaxing away from crowds. The beach area is somewhat run down, but this does not detract from the overall appeal of the location.
In terms of dining options, the cafeteria is less than impressive, which is why I opt to bring my own meals and beverages. Despite this, the ability to spend time near the pool or on the beach makes up for the lack of culinary satisfaction. The beach area is located further from crowded areas, providing a more peaceful atmosphere for relaxation and leisure activities. Although the area may be a bit rundown, it does not impact my desire to return to this location.
