11. Dark Horse Coffee Roasters
Small batch, locally roasted coffee

I stumbled upon the Dark Horse Coffee Roasters location in North Park completely by accident. It's on the same block in the heart of North Park as my hairdresser and I just wanted to grab a latte to take to my appointment one morning. Good coffee? IS INCREDIBLE. In fact, it might be my favorite of all the coffee shops in San Diego. The North Park location is small (small counter and a few tables), I'd say it's more of a takeout place. But literally one of the best coffees I've ever had (they've also partnered with a couple of local breweries, so keep your eyes open for those). Bonus Tip: After ordering your coffee or cold brew...walk down the street to Verbatim Books. It is the perfect place to sail. Bird Rock Coffee Roasters (La Jolla, Bressi Ranch, Little Italy, Torrey Pines, Morena, Pacific Beach): Bird Rock Coffee Roasters is practically an institution in San Diego. These little places are in great areas if you're visiting from out of town (the La Jolla coffee shop has a great location) and the Gold Digger (a honey-flavored latte) is amazing. Suggestion? Order one of their delicious drinks at the cafe and then walk to the beach to see if you can spot the sea lions.
