The garden featured a diverse collection of sculptures, including two large works by Mark di Suvero from the Steel like Paper exhibition. The highlight of the outdoor area for me was the Richard Serra piece, "My Curves are not Mad," which is meant to be experienced by walking through it.
Inside, we found the work of self-taught Pittsburgh artist, Thaddeus Mosley, which I had previously only read about. The sculpture center, though small, had a tranquil atmosphere, with sculptures by Henry Moore and a calming water feature. The sculptures in the garden are regularly rotated, and while some of the metal pieces weren't to my personal taste, the stories behind the artists and their work were moving. The center also featured a cafe where we could sit and enjoy a drink and salad while taking in the beauty of the garden. The Moseley exhibition, using beautiful pieces of wood, and the paintings and drawings on display were also worth seeing, reminding us that art appreciation is subjective.
