2. High Rooftop Lounge
Stunning panoramic views, Instagrammable sunsets

It is highly recommended to make reservations for the rooftop to ensure a better experience. Seating may not be guaranteed without a reservation, and there is limited time available. The cocktails served are delicious, flavorful, and unique, with creative twists on classic brunch drinks.
The rooftop is located on top of the Hotel Erwin and offers a great view, even though the hotel is not very tall. The panoramic view extends to Venice Beach and the surrounding areas. Blankets are provided and appreciated on cool evenings. The large area has a lively atmosphere, and the service is prompt. However, the mixed drinks were disappointing despite their high price.

6. Townhouse Venice
Unique decor, hidden patio, and craft cocktails

The townhouse offered a cocktail menu that featured six options, all of which were carefully crafted and generously portioned. Although the menu did not have many creative or unique options, there is potential for this to change in the future.
The townhouse offered a lively and enjoyable atmosphere, with great music and friendly staff. One of the standout features of the venue was the live music, which added to the overall positive experience.

7. The Del Monte Speakeasy
Historical Prohibition-era bar

The Del Monte Speakeasy is a fantastic bar located in the basement of Townhouse in Venice, hidden since 1915. If it were in my hometown, my liver would be in worse shape due to its appealing selection of fancy-pants handcrafted cocktails. Instead of hooch, this speakeasy offers a wide range of entertainment, including local bands, comedy, jazz, and vaudeville acts.
George is a standout bartender at the Del Monte Speakeasy, adding to the great atmosphere of the venue. The bar's rich history as a speakeasy is preserved, creating a unique and interesting ambiance. Although no longer serving hooch, the upscale cocktails available more than make up for it. The venue's entertainment is another highlight, with a variety of acts that keep visitors engaged and entertained.

8. Hinano Cafe
Historic Location, Friendly Staff

Parking is a major issue in the vicinity of the bar, but the excellent drinks make up for it. The bartender, Adrian, stood out for his exceptional service, accommodating the request for a vodka substitute in a drink without any hassle. Every drink he prepared was delicious, making for a satisfying experience. The bar has a relaxed atmosphere and is a place I plan to revisit.
Hinano is a popular beach dive, with a laid-back and enjoyable ambiance. However, it only serves beer and wine, which is a limitation if one prefers cocktails. Despite this, Hinano is the most fun and chill bar in the area, making it a great spot to hang out. The only reason it received a lower rating is due to the lack of spirit options.

10. Roosterfish
Cozy patio, fresh seafood, and craft cocktails

The bar in question is known for its decent selection of drinks and enjoyable atmosphere. One of its standout features is the impressive patio, which provides a great space for socializing. However, the crowd can be inconsistent, ranging from lively and fun to disappointing. The bar also plays good house music that contributes to its upbeat ambiance.
On the other hand, there are some downsides to this bar. The drinks are priced higher than average, which is not uncommon in LA, particularly in popular areas such as Abbot Kinney. This pricing may be a deterrent for some customers looking to enjoy a night out without breaking the bank.

11. Gin Rummy
Elegant ambiance, handcrafted cocktails, live music

Gin Rummy is a restaurant that has gained popularity for its delicious and swiftly prepared food, as well as its diverse range of dishes and drinks. It is particularly crowded on Friday and Saturday nights due to the presence of DJs. Despite the crowds, the spacious interior of Gin Rummy allows for easy movement. The establishment also features a pinball machine and is recognized for its honest employees, as demonstrated by an employee returning a lost wallet without asking for a reward.
A new venture, GIN RUMMY - an island-inspired cocktail bar - has recently opened on the Westside. It is the latest project of Jared Meisler, a well-known Los Angeles bar proprietor, and the team of David and Patti Reiss of Reiss Co. The cocktail program at GIN RUMMY is skillfully led by Beverage Directors Danilo Kim, previously of The Alibi Room and Nueva, and Marcus Ragas, who has worked at The Chestnut Club and Caboco. The bar offers a unique and inviting atmosphere, reminiscent of a vintage beach bar.

12. The Venice Whaler
Outdoor fire pits, stunning ocean views, and friendly service

The restaurant is a great spot for happy hour, offering delicious food and a friendly atmosphere. The chicken skewers, sweet potato fries, and quesadillas were all standout dishes. However, the happy hour deals for well drinks are less impressive, with prices being on the higher side and the drinks having a lot of mixer. On the other hand, the $10 pitchers are a good value, especially when paired with appetizers.
In addition to the food and drink, the restaurant is also a fantastic place to watch the sunset. It's a popular spot for locals to gather and enjoy a pitcher of beer as the day comes to an end. Unfortunately, the happy hour deals for well drinks are not as good as other places, such as Cabo, where you can get 2 for 1 deals. It's worth noting that a vodka soda at this establishment will set you back $7, and it's mostly soda, which doesn't provide good value for the price.

13. The Little Friend in Venice

The smaller, more intimate sibling of Silver Lake's The Friend, this Venice bar is where you go to dance the night away to '80s hits with a bunch of sweaty strangers under a disco ball. As the name suggests, the space is quite small, made up of a few tables and a small bar in the back that serves great cocktails and natural wine. The names of the cocktails are part of the charm here, with each one embodying a certain “type,” like The Joker, The Hustler, and our personal favorite, The Passion, which has a strong hint of mezcal flavored with tart hibiscus and passion fruit. The knowledgeable and attentive staff deliver exceptional service, enhancing the overall dining experience.
In addition to being a restaurant, Gran Blanco also features a disco-heavy bar with a variety of well-crafted drinks. The Celery Southside cocktail is a must-try, but the real standouts are the bar's tasty offerings, such as the juicy smashburger, whipped feta topped with charred eggplant and chili crunch. The author ordered a lemon cocktail upon the recommendation of the staff, who described it as the sweetest option. Along with the drink, they also ordered 12 chicken wing sticks. However, they found the wings to be excessively salty. The staff's friendly demeanor and the pleasant atmosphere of Venice were highlights of the experience.

Knowledgeable staff, unique wine selection

The establishment offers a super creative and fun atmosphere that enhances the overall experience. The drinks are a standout feature, including a variety of choices that are sure to impress. However, there is room for improvement when it comes to the wine list. Specifically, expanding the selection of dry reds and whites would better accommodate seafood and dark meat dishes.
On the other hand, the wine and cheese selection is terrific, and the cozy outdoor seating creates an ideal setting for catching up with friends. The cocktails are another highlight, with a great variety to choose from. Overall, the establishment offers a memorable experience with its creative atmosphere and impressive drink options.
