1. Bottega Louie
Beautiful architectural design, extensive dessert selection.

Bottega Louie was a dining destination for my Bestie's birthday while visiting downtown Los Angeles. Its charming atmosphere makes it suitable for various occasions, such as dates or a day out with girlfriends. Among the offerings, the macaroons stood out as my personal favorite, with their freshness and delightful taste.
Despite the appeal, Bottega Louie's coffee offerings, although overpriced, were enjoyable and complemented by a diverse assortment of macaroons. However, the average Italian cuisine seemed to be priced higher than its worth. This eatery offers indulgent desserts and pleasant ambiance, but patrons should be prepared for potentially steep prices, particularly for the food.

The clean dining area, coupled with the recommendation to try the sample platter to taste multiple flavors, makes Guisados a must-visit spot for tasty tacos, quesadillas, and aguas frescas in California. However, the lack of parking and the high cost of the nearby lot may present a challenge for some visitors. Despite this, the quality of the food and dining experience make it worth the effort to find parking.

12. Blu Jam Cafe
Caters to various dietary preferences, popular brunch spot

The first experience at Blu Jam Cafe was underwhelming due to the disappointing food. Despite the great service and quick ordering process via QR code, the food let them down. The grilled cheese sandwich had cold, bland filling, even though the diced potatoes served with it were tasty. The French toast was another disappointment, with a lack of maple syrup and a strange cream sauce instead. The restaurant failed to live up to the expectations set by the bustling Grand Central station's food options.
Contrarily, Blu Jam Cafe's second experience delighted the diners with delicious food that had them planning their return. The welcoming staff and smooth ordering system using QR code on their phones added to the positive ambiance. They relished every bite of the shakshouka, eggs benedict, and especially the French toast churros. The exceptional food quality, friendly service, and quick delivery to the table left nothing to be desired, creating a memorable meal.

13. Poppy + Rose
Modern California cuisine in a rustic-chic setting, committed to sustainable and organic ingredients.

The author enjoyed a late lunch on a Friday afternoon at a restaurant with a unique parking and check-in process. The patio is located on the roof, and after parking there, one must descend three flights of stairs to check in on the first floor. The food, including Cobb salads and chicken and waffles, was delicious, and the Arnold Palmer beverage was disappointingly watered down. Validation for the roof parking is necessary to reduce the fee to $3, and service was excellent.
The roof patio of the restaurant provides a pleasant view, and the food and service were satisfying. To access the roof parking, one should enter 742 Maple Ave and drive around to find the patio entrance. It is important to note that parking is $4 with validation, and payment must be made in cash. The patio offers easy access to the roof parking, making it a convenient option for dining at the restaurant.

15. BROKEN MOUTH | Lee's Homestyle in Downtown Los Angeles
Family-owned restaurant with homemade recipes

"Broken Mouth" received a high rating of 4.8, and we found it to be reasonably priced, prompting us to give it a try. Although the menu was limited, we were pleasantly surprised by the four unique and delicious flavors we experienced in one meal. However, there were some issues with the pizza size and quality, with some customers receiving smaller pizzas than expected. Additionally, there were concerns about the preparation and storage of some gluten-free options.
On a positive note, we found the pasta to be delicious, and the "super supreme" pizza was also enjoyable. The regional cuisine we have tried in 30 countries and Hawaii did not prepare us for the new and tasty flavors we discovered at this restaurant. Despite the inconsistencies with the pizza and gluten-free options, we were glad we tried "Broken Mouth" and appreciated the enjoyable and delicious aspects of our meal.
